Admissions

How do I apply for a place at Bertie's Nursery?
Places at Bertie’s are allocated on a first come first served basis. We are grateful that there exists significant demand for places and so it is advised that contact with the nursery is made as soon as possible.

Is there a waiting list?
Yes, there may be a waiting list depending on availability. Please contact us to enquire about current spaces.

What does a typical day look like at Bertie's Nursery?

A typical day at Bertie’s offers a balance of structured learning and child-led exploration. Children are welcomed into a calm and nurturing environment, where they engage in a variety of activities - from storytelling, creative arts, and early literacy, to outdoor play and nature walks.

Our daily routine provides consistency and comfort, while allowing plenty of opportunities for independence, social interaction, and joyful discovery. Meals and quiet moments are woven into the day to support wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging.

Health & Safety

How do you ensure the safety of the children at Bertie's Nursery?
The safety and wellbeing of every child is our top priority. Our nursery is equipped with secure entry points, and we have strict protocols for drop-off and pick-up. All staff members are trained in first aid and child protection.

What happens if my child is unwell?
If your child is feeling unwell, we ask that you keep them home to prevent the spread of illness. If your child becomes unwell during the day, we will contact you immediately and make arrangements for them to be picked up.

What qualifications do your staff hold?
Our staff members are fully qualified, and many hold additional certifications in first aid, safeguarding, and specialised learning support.

How do you ensure that staff are continuously developing their skills?
We provide regular professional development opportunities, including training in the latest educational practices and child development techniques.

Parent Communication

How do you keep parents informed about their child's progress?
We send home regular progress updates, hold parent-teacher meetings, and encourage open communication through our parent portal. Parents are welcome to schedule meetings with staff at any time.
